Capabilities:

  • Design, implement, and manage complex system architectures
  • Integrate various system components and subsystems to ensure seamless operation
  • Manage system configurations and maintain accurate records of hardware and software configurations
  • Perform systems engineering activities and assist in the preparation of a work product in Technical Process Areas associated with the ISO/IEC 15288.
  • Develop and deliver a work product in any of the ISO/IEC 15288 Process Areas.
  • Perform analysis of technical alternatives for a project and make preliminary recommendations.
  • Assist in performing systems engineering activities in the ISO/IEC 15288 Agreement or Enterprise Process Areas.
  • Perform systems engineering activities and assist in the preparation of multiple work products in Project and/or Technical Process Areas associated with any of the ISO/IEC 15288 processes
  • Develop detailed technical specifications and ensure solutions meet security, performance, and operational requirements
  • Integrate and configure various hardware and software components to build cohesive systems
  • Oversee system configuration management, including setting up and maintaining configurations for hardware and software
  • Continuously monitor system performance metrics and logs
  • Provide expert troubleshooting and technical support for system issues
  • Plan and execute system upgrades and apply patches to keep systems up-to-date and secure
  • Implement and enforce robust security measures to protect systems against threats
  • Conduct regular backups and ensure that recovery procedures are tested and effective in protecting government data and systems
  • Develop and utilize scripts and automation tools to streamline system management tasks
  • Manage and respond to system incidents, including outages and performance issues

 

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelors degree in a Qualified Engineering Field (See Note 1) or a related discipline (See Note 2) from an accredited college or university plus four (4) years of systems engineering experience. OR A High School Diploma or GED and four (4) years of general system engineering experience (any Process Area) may be substituted for a Bachelors degree. OR A Masters degree in a Qualified Engineering Field (See Note 1) or a related discipline (See Note 2) from an accredited college or university may be substituted for one (1) year of systems engineering experience. OR A PhD in a Qualified Engineering Field (See Note 1) or a related discipline (See Note 2) from an accredited college or university may be substituted for three (3) years of systems engineering experience.
  • Note 1 Examples of Qualified engineering fields include: Aeronautics, Biomedical, Chemical, Civil, Computer, Electrical, Environmental, Mechanical, Nuclear, Software, Systems, and Engineering Management.
  • Note 2 - Examples of related disciplines include: Chemistry, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, and Physics.
